Install — managed force-install (Google Admin)

Push to users via Google Admin Console → Devices → Chrome → Apps & extensions → Users & browsers → add by ID, "From a custom URL", Force install.

Install — Load Unpacked (local debugging)

Download the latest zip from the builds page.
Unzip it.
Open chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode.
Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder.

Same code as the signed CRX; use it to reproduce a prod-config build while debugging.

Update

Managed installs update automatically on Chrome's next poll (a few hours), or force it via chrome://extensions → "Update". Load-Unpacked testers re-download the latest zip and reload.

Rollback

Chrome blocks downgrades — you cannot serve an older version under the same channel. To roll back, bump the manifest version above the bad one and re-publish the known-good code.

Troubleshooting sign-in

"Authorization page could not be loaded." — the build was packaged without VITE_COGNITO_DOMAIN, so it falls back to an invalid Cognito endpoint. Use a CI-built artifact (this host), never a hand-built local zip.
"app_not_configured_for_user" (Google 403). — the Google Workspace SAML app is not enabled for that user's OU. Fix in Google Admin Console → Apps → Web and mobile apps → the SAML app → User access (per organizational unit).
